About Kinderchor
For over eighty years the German-American Children's Chorus has celebrated German culture and song.
Under the direction of Ms. Carol Himmel, this group of children have performed in Germany, Austria, Disney World, Navy Pier, The Museum of Science and Industry, The Chicago Cultural Center, the National Saengerfest and many Chicago area events.
Any child from four years old through eighteen years old, regardless of ethnic background, is welcome to join the chorus.
Why should you join Kinderchor?
1. We have fun- Not only do we have fun singing, we have good times performing in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
2. Get to know people- In Kinderchor you will build life long friendships for your kids. Kinderchor and Jugendchor are a very close group that get along great.
3. You dont have to be a fluent German speaker- Don't worry if your kids are not fluent in German, we sing a mixture of traditional German songs along with some english songs. Children learn as they go.
4. You can visit and perform in Germany- Every few years we organize a group trip to Germany. Through out the year we do fundraising to help with the cost of our trip, its an experience of a lifetime
